Imagine saying “I do” in a place where ancient Mayan culture meets modern luxury, with turquoise waters, lush jungles, and endless adventures at every turn. As a destination wedding photographer specializing in all-inclusive resort weddings in Mexico, I was ecstatic to capture Erika and Jeff’s magical day at Hotel Xcaret Mexico—a sprawling eco-archaeological paradise in Riviera Maya that blends sustainability, art, and nature for an unforgettable experience. This all-fun-inclusive resort, with unlimited access to Xcaret Park’s underground rivers and shows, offered the perfect backdrop for their getting ready, first look, Bar Bio ceremony, bridal party fun, romantic portraits, lively reception, and a whimsical post-wedding trash-the-dress shoot in a private cenote—complete with Erika’s mermaid tail for stunning underwater magic.

The day started with getting ready in the resort’s spacious suites, where Erika shared joyful moments with her bridesmaids amid vibrant decor and ocean views, while Jeff prepped with his groomsmen, capturing those authentic, anticipatory portraits that radiate excitement. Hotel Xcaret Mexico’s wedding packages, starting with options like symbolic ministers and floral arrangements, make planning seamless for couples seeking paradise. The first look unfolded on a scenic path to the theatre, flanked by shimmering water pools on either side, where Jeff turned to see Erika for the first time—tears and smiles creating pure emotion against the resort’s artistic landscapes.

The ceremony took place at Bar Bio, a stunning and unique venue for intimate gatherings, with a dramatic waterfall cascading in the background as Erika and Jeff exchanged vows under floral arches. This smaller, nature-infused spot, ideal for ceremonies blending serenity with adventure, accommodated their loved ones perfectly, with the sound of flowing water adding a romantic, ethereal touch to the photos. From there, we dove into fun bridal party pictures around the hotel—playful group shots by pools, amid jungles, and on bridges, showcasing the resort’s biodiverse grounds and the crew’s vibrant energy.

Romantic portraits followed, strolling the stunning hotel landscapes: golden-hour glows over infinity pools, dramatic cave entrances, and lush pathways fringed by palm trees, creating timeless images that highlight Hotel Xcaret Mexico’s integration with Riviera Maya’s natural beauty. The reception was a super fun party with great vibes—sparklers lighting up the night for grand exits, non-stop dancing under string lights, and heartfelt toasts in open-air spaces overlooking the sea, all fueled by gourmet cuisine and premium bars from the resort’s packages.

The adventure peaked with a post-wedding trash-the-dress shoot in a private cenote, where Erika donned a mermaid tail for stunning underwater portraits—floating gowns, ethereal light beams through vines, and playful splashes turning the sinkhole into a fairy-tale scene. These shots, impossible on the wedding day, connected them deeply with Mexico’s mystical cenotes, making for truly unique memories.
